Four Moves, One Flying Dog, and a Month of Burnout

Four Moves, One Flying Dog, and a Month of Burnout

Aug 01, 2025

Repatriating isn’t just unpacking boxes—it’s unpacking yourself.

In the past year, I navigated four international moves, including the logistics (and emotions) of flying a dog across continents. The constant transitions tested my body, my mind, and my spirit.

By the time I finally landed “home,” I didn’t feel home at all. My body froze. My energy tanked. And I hit one full month of burnout—the kind that forces you to give yourself permission to stop.

Family took center stage. Friendships faded into the background; I wasn’t answering calls, and texts went unanswered. My business paused in the spotlight, but behind the scenes it was still quietly growing, holding space for me while I found my footing again.

This season taught me that resilience doesn’t always look like powering through.

Sometimes it’s about sitting in the chaos, knowing it’s okay, and trusting that the next chapter will unfold when you’re ready.
