A Letter from an Aromatherapist: Why I Still Believe Nature Knows Best

A Letter from an Aromatherapist: Why I Still Believe Nature Knows Best

May 01, 2026

There’s something about slowing down and writing this kind of message that feels different.

Not rushed. Not performative. Just real.

If we were sitting together right now, I imagine it would be one of those easy conversations where time softens a little. Maybe there’s a warm drink nearby, maybe the world feels a little quieter for a moment, and we both remember what it feels like to just breathe a little deeper.

So think of this as a letter from me to you.

A reminder.
A pause.
And maybe even a gentle return to something you already know deep down.

People often ask me how I ended up so connected to essential oils and natural wellness. And the honest answer is—it wasn’t one big decision. It was years of noticing patterns. Years of living in different countries. Years of starting over in new homes. Years of watching how different cultures naturally weave plants, rituals, and simple sensory practices into everyday life without overcomplicating it.

No matter where I lived, I kept seeing the same thing.
People turned to nature when they wanted to feel better.
Not as a trend. Not as a wellness strategy. Just as something instinctive.
A calming tea before bed.
A familiar scent in the home.
Fresh herbs in the kitchen.
Simple, grounding rituals that didn’t require explanation.
And over time, I stopped seeing those things as “alternative wellness.”
I started seeing them as something we’ve always known.

Nature has always been here—we just got louder

Somewhere along the way, wellness became complicated. Too many steps. Too many rules. Too many opinions about what “healthy” should look like. But nature has never changed its message.

It doesn’t ask us to perform.
It doesn’t overwhelm us with options.
It simply offers support in the most subtle, beautiful ways.
A scent that softens your mood.
A plant that brings clarity.
An aroma that shifts the energy in a room without effort.
The simplicity of it is what still amazes me.

My relationship with aromatherapy didn’t start as a business
It started as personal survival, in a way I didn’t fully understand at the time.

There were seasons of life—some beautiful, some overwhelming—where I noticed I kept reaching for small things that helped me feel more grounded.
Not to fix everything.
Just to feel a little more steady.
A calming aroma in the evening when my mind wouldn’t slow down.
Something uplifting in the morning when I needed to reset my energy.
Small sensory rituals that helped me transition between the demands of daily life and moments of rest.
Over time, those little choices became something I trusted.
Not because they were dramatic.
But because they were consistent.

One of the things I love most about aromatherapy is how immediate it is.You don’t have to think your way into it. You don’t have to analyze it. You simply inhale… and something shifts.

That’s because scent is deeply connected to the emotional part of the brain. It bypasses logic and speaks directly to memory, mood, and the nervous system.
Which is why one simple aroma can feel grounding one moment and uplifting the next.

It’s not magic.
It’s the body responding to something ancient and familiar.

Bringing nature back into everyday life

What I’ve learned over the years is that wellness doesn’t need to be complicated to be powerful.
It just needs to be consistent enough to matter.
For me, that often looks like small sensory anchors throughout the day. A refreshing aroma in the morning that helps me feel awake and focused. Something calming in the evening that signals it’s time to slow down. A simple moment of pause before moving from one part of the day to another.

These aren’t big rituals.

They’re small reminders to return to myself.

A softer way to support your wellbeing

If there’s something I hope you take from this, it’s this:
You don’t need to overhaul your life to feel better.
You don’t need a perfect routine.
You don’t need to do everything at once.
Sometimes, the most supportive thing you can do is return to something simple and natural.
Something your body recognizes.
Something that helps you soften instead of strive.

Wherever you are right now, I hope you take a moment for yourself after reading this.

Not to fix anything.
Not to improve anything.

Just to notice how you feel.

To breathe a little slower.
To come back into your body for a moment.
Nature has always been speaking.
Sometimes we just need to slow down enough to hear it again.

And maybe that’s where wellness really begins.

Not in doing more.
But in remembering what has always supported you.
